Mijn inspiratie bron is de vrouwelijke vorm in haar veelzijdigheid. De ene keer maak ik haar ingetogen de andere keer uitbundig en/of vrolijk. Dit is vaak afhankelijk van mijn stemming. Meestal werk ik in keramiek. Of keramiek in combinatie met gevonden hout. De stukken hout zeggen mij iets, ik zie er iets in. Het “ontbrekende” maak ik er in keramiek bij. De combinatie van het verweerde hout, soms rond geschaafd door de zee, met het keramiek spreken mij heel erg aan. Het zijn zo unieke beelden die bijna uit zichzelf ontstaan.

My source of inspiration is the female form in all its versatility. Sometimes I render it with restraint; at other times, I make it exuberant and/or joyful. This often depends on my mood. I usually work with ceramics, or a combination of ceramics and found wood. The pieces of wood speak to me; I see something in them. I use ceramics to create the “missing” elements. I am deeply drawn to the combination of weathered wood—sometimes smoothed by the sea—and ceramics. These unique sculptures seem to emerge almost of their own accord.
