Maria was born in Rome where she studied fashion design. She then moved to New York to work as a footwear designer for various companies over a period of 15 years. During this time she also continued pursuing her other passion: painting. She joined some art galleries and took part to numerous exhibitions in Europe, USA and Australia. Maria also worked as an illustrator for many publications and advertising companies. Both her Illustration work and her paintings have been published in numerous books and publications about art and illustration over the years.

After moving to the Netherlands seven years ago, she decided to use her numerous designs to develop her own collection of silk scarves. Maria’s textiles are characterized by bold colors and graphics, often inspired by her paintings and by her illustration work. She is currently working on a collection of luxury leather bags. All of her collections are entirely made in Italy.
